NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked CBSE and ICSE to reveal in two weeks the objective criteria to be adopted for awarding marks to class 12 students.
The apex court said it is “happy” with the decision to cancel Class 12 board exams.
The CBSE had on June 1 cancelled the Class 12 board examination, which was followed by ICSE cancelling exam for its students.
After this decision, many state boards too went ahead with cancelling their Class 12 exams.
The SC said it will consider issues relating to class 12 state board examination, which covers over 1 crore students, after resolving the objective evaluation criteria issue concerning CBSE and ICSE.
A bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari assured that “SC will protect interest of all class 12 students” and said, “petitioners raising state board issue needs to have some patience.”
