Now on a sweeter note, we have everyone’s favourite kheer on this list. Kheer is an important part of Indian lifestyle. Be it birthdays or pujas, one cannot do without kheer. Well, this healthy quinoa kheer can be had without counting the calories and worrying about the carbs!
This is how you make it:
· Soak ¼ cup of quinoa in water for about 15 minutes. Drain well and let it rest.
· Heat a little bit of ghee in a cooker and add the quinoa to it.
· In a low flame, sauté it for 5 minutes before adding 1/4 cup of both milk and water to it.
· Cover up with a lid and wait for the whistle to go off thrice
· The quinoa is now soft enough to add ¾ cup of milk into it.
· Add saffron if you want or let it boil as it is for 2 minutes, add sugar according to your need and let it cook on a low flame until it thickens
· Take it out of the pot and decorate it with cashews and pistachios to make it pretty!
